Ryden Beach, New York. Lennie, a heartbroken young man, returns to his kind stepfather, Rubin, and his wife, Ruth, after a failed relationship. Concerned about his depression and loneliness, his parents try to set him up with Sandra, the daughter of one of their family friends. However, Sandra soon develops feelings for Lennie. Meanwhile, Lennie's attention is drawn to Michelle, a girl in the neighborhood.
